The Akha people are an ethnic group that live in Eastern Shan State, Myanmar, and in the northwestern area of Thailand. This village was part of a research project to record songs from this area.

The Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University hosts a Summer Peacebuilding Institute with participants from all over the world. These Somali women were part of an African cohort that worked towards a graduate certificate in Conflict Transformation.
